This rare 5 x 7-1/4 inches soft cover book with 162 pages was written from Hans Fritsche and printed 1928 from the "Das Junge Volk" printing company on Plauen, Germany. Very well illustrated with 110 photos and drawings shows this book the life and activities in the forerunner of the Hitler Youth camps! The boys and girls wear uniforms already which look not much different than the later HJ and BDM uniforms. Everything looks very much the same as what was going on in HJ camps from 1933 on, paramilitary drill, fighting games, campfire idyll and flag ceremonies, "pioneer" construction projects (i.e. a wooden bridge over a creek), etc. A very interesting and very rare book in almost as-new condition!
