The 7 x 9-1/2 inch, 112 pages hardcover books were published between 1934 (volume I) and 1939 (volume VI) by Freiheitsverlag in Berlin. All six volumes are in excellent, almost As-New condition. The most important events of each year of the new Germany under National Socialist leadership are documen-ted. Each book contains between 45 and 80 photographs. The covers have a very interesting design: 

Jahr I (Year One / 1933) shows Adolf Hitler and his symbolic first dig in the dirt which started the Reichsautobahn project while behind him the swastika rises like the sun (the dawn of a new era)

Jahr II (Year Two / 1934) the "sun" is all the way up and a group of workers giving the German salute, symbolizing the hope and faith the workers have in Hitler who will give them work again

Jahr III (Year Three /1935) concentrates on the achievements in the fields economy and relationships with Germany's neighbor countries

Jahr IV (Year Four / 1936) the cover photo shows German troops occupying the de-militarized zone along the Rhine river which was under French control since the Treaty of Versailles was signed. This symbolizes Germany's return to sovereignty

Jahr V (Year Five / 1937) the Wehrmacht parade in front of Hitler on the cover photo stands for Germany's return to a powerful nation

Jahr VI (Year Six / 1938) Grossdeutschland (Greater Germany) has been created and the cover shows a map with the territories that became part of Germany, including Austria.

The only volume that is missing is the very rare Das Jahr VII on the year 1939 with a Stuka dive bomber on the cover, symbolizing the Blitzkrieg against Poland.
