The "EIGHT-EIGHT" was the nightmare of the Allies, at first

developed as an Anti-Aircraft weapon it was soon found out that it

was a lethal weapon against enemy tanks! The famous Tiger tanks

also carried a modified version of the 88mm cannon.

This item consists of three main pieces, a front axle part, a rear axle

part and the cannon hooked into both units for transportation. Two

of the four legs can be folded upward for transportation and the

cannon has a transportation rest which can be folded down. When

the 88mm arrived its destination the two wheeled units (the tires are

correctly marked Lineol) were unhooked and the two folded legs

were folded down. One of the scans is a page of the original

1938/39 Lineol catalog, showing the 88mm Flak hooked to the

wheeled units and also in firing position.

There are a couple minor parts missing and the base of the gun

should be assembled back together. There are a few little parts

coming with the cannon. They are from this item but we decided

not to mess around with this fantastic piece, it is offered as-is, in

original unaltered condition. Any quite experienced collector of

antique toys will be able to put the extra parts back into place if he

wants to! The whole unit is FIFTEEN INCHES LONG, THE

CANNONs LENGHT ALONE IS TEN INCHES (because two of

the legs slide underneath the wheel units).
