RARE ORIGINAL 1939 THIRD REICH PHOTO BOOK ON THE FEMALE LABOR SERVICE AT THE COASTAL REGION OF THE GERMAN THIRD REICH Arbeitsmaiden in der Nordmark This scarce 7 x 9-1/2 inches hardcover book with 80 pages is in very good condition. The only imperfection are stain spots on the first (empty) pages. This book is a wonderful photo report of the experiences of some "Arbeitsmaiden" (that's how the female workers in the Reichs Labor Front were called) during their labor service time in the Nordmark, the region along the German coast of the Baltic Sea. The entire book is full of photos of which many are full page photographs. The book was written as a remembrance book for Arbeitsmaiden and their female leaders who served in the Bezirk XV / Nordmark. It was published from the R.A.D. leadership in Kiel and printed from the Klinhammer Verlag in Berlin. The Preface is from Stabshauptführerin Grete Seumenicht, the illustrations and layout of this wonderful book was done from Maidenoberführerin Elisabeth Lehmann.
This book was probably only printed in a small number because it was intended to be a remembrance for those girls and young women who served in the region which is so nicely described in this book. So don't pass on this excellent copy, who knows if and when we will find another one!
