According to the "Reichserbhofgesetz" (Reichs Hereditary Farm Law) from September 29, 1933 the strictly Aryan farm could only go into the possession of the oldest son if he was able to prove his Aryan origin back to at least the year 1800. These signs were displayed from 1933 to 1945 only! After the Third Reich had ended these Erbhof signs were taken down and in most cases discarded, probably only a few originals still exist today!

The 8 x 10 inch cast iron sign with the "Odalsrune" (Odal rune) and the word "Erbhof" is in very good condition. There are absolutely no imperfections, cracks or welding spots. The sign must have been repainted black. For some reason the color appears brownish on the pictures.
