In July of 1936 the "International Central Bureau Joy and Work" was founded in Hamburg on occasion of the World Congress for Leisure Time and Recreation and Dr. Robert Ley, leader of the German Labor Front, was appointed by the 51 nations represented there to be President of this organization for life! This item here is a very nice example of the official monthly periodical of the "International Central Bureau Joy and Work". Offered for sale is issue number 8 (August) 1938 in very good condition. The 10-1/2 x 14-1/2(!) inch magazine has 132 heavily illustrated pages with countless photos and illustrations about leisure time, recreation and art in the Third Reich and other countries. One of the main articles in this issue deals about the Great German Art Exhibition 1938 in the House of German Art in Munich. Many pages have full color pictures and there are some fantastic Third Reich advertisings, too.
