This very interesting 6 x 8 inch, 164 pages soft cover book was published 1939 by the NSDAP Reich Youth Leadership. Listed are all summer camps from all four branches of the Hitler Youth: Jungvolk (Pimpfe), HJ (Hitler-Jugend), Jungmädel (JM) and Bund Deutscher Mädel (BDM). The book lists the camps sorted by the Gaue (districts) of the German Third Reich, in-cluding annexed Austria and occupied Bohemia and Moravia. There is a map of each Gau with entries where each of the camps is located. The text on the facing pages gives additional information: what kind of a camp and for how many children, for which age group and sex, for which HJ unit (i.e. Jungbann Oldenburg) and in which months the camp was open. There were camps especially for certain groups, such as Motor-HJ camps and camps for HJ and BDM leader (Führerlager). A very interesting and important item for anyone interested in the structure of BDM and Hitler-Jugend.
