Offered for sale is a VERY INTERESTING 1938 THIRD REICH PHOTO BOOK ON THE ORIGINS OF THE NAZI POLICE IN HAMBURG DER WEG, AUF DEM WIR ANGETRETEN (THE PATH, WHERE WE LINED UP) FROM ILLEGAL FREIKORPS AND SA-FORMATIONS TO HIMMLERS POLICE BATTALIONS IN ONE OF GERMANY'S BIGGEST CITIES This 5-1/2 x 8 inch, 340-pages hardcover book was written by Alf Krüger and published 1938 by Wilhelm Limpert Verlag in Berlin. It is a detailed report of the first handful of National Socialists in Hamburg and their "battle for a better Ger-many", side by side with Freikorps units. In 1926 the SA formations were temporarily declared illegal but after the National Socialist seizure of power eventually integrated in the Police apparatus of Hamburg, since 1935 under the leadership of Reichsführer-SS Heinrich Himmler who then also had become head of the German Police.Except for a small damage at the back cover in very good condition. Great reference material!
