The 8-1/4 x 11 inch hardcover book by C. van Geelkerken was published 1943 in Dutch language. In 1931 the NSB (Nationaal Socialistische Bewe-ging) was founded in Utrecht, Holland. It was a fascist Party, founded by Anton Mussert. The party based its program on Italian fascism and German National Socialism, however unlike the latter before 1936 the party was not anti-Semitic and even had Jewish members. After the Second World War broke out the NSB sympathized with the Germans, and advocated strict neutrality for the Netherlands. In May 1940, 800 NSB members and sympathizers were put in custody by the Dutch government when the German army invaded Holland. Soon after the Dutch defeat on 14 May 1940, they were set free by German troops. The NSB was the only party that was allowed in Holland from 1941 to May 1945. The party then was declared an illegal organization, just like the German NSDAP.
