RARE ORIGINAL 1943 PHOTO BOOK ON HITLER YOUTH IN

The 6 x 8-1/4 inch, 142-pages, heavily illustrated hardcover book was written by Adolf Schmidt and published 1943 by Junge Generation Verlag, a publishing house of the Hitler Youth. The very interesting book shows HJ boys and BDM girls from German cities and towns who were sent to camps in rural parts of the Reich. This was done through the KLV program which was affiliated to the Hitler Youth. KLV stands for Kinderlandverschickung (dispatch of children to rural areas). This program was started in 1939 with the begin of the war and until 1945 about 2.5 million children were send to 9,000 camps. The official version was that the children went to rural areas on "holiday" but especially as the war proceeded they really should be out of the cities and towns that had more and more difficulties feeding them and were being bombed by the Allies.
