Offered for sale is a very nice copy of the hard

to find heavily illustrated Hitler-Jugend / BDM book

The 8 x 10 inches soft cover book is in very good condition. It has 96 pages

and wonderful black and white photos throughout the whole book! Most of

them are full page photos with very interesting close-up views of BDM and

Hitler Youth uniforms!

The book was written from the highest leader of the Landjahr,

Ministerialdirigent, Staatsrat Schmidt-Bodenstedt and it was printed from the

Verlag E. Appelhans in Braunschweig, germany. We could not find a printing

date but assume it was printed 1938/39, the text mentions Grossdeutschland

and the Reich was named the Greater German Reich after the annex of

Austria in 1938. This wonderful photo book was meant to be a remembrance

book for BDM girls and Hitler Youth boys who did their 8 month long

service on farms which was called the "Landjahr". Besides a lot of sports and

outdoor activities they learnt to deal with farm animals, help on the field,

morning salute to the Nazi flag, singing, marching etc.!

Please note the Landjahr badge on left arm of the girls shirts!
