Offered for sale is a very hard to find and sought after

original US ARMY

Offered is the unit with the serial number 32248 which manufactured 1945 from JOHN WOOD MFG. CO. These rare handcarts were mainly used from American Airborne units, Mountain Troopers, Rangers and other units in World War Two (WWII) when they operated in terrain where it was impossible to haul ammunition and supplies in or behind vehicles. Sometimes not even the famous Willys MB or Ford GPW jeeps could be driven in places where these troops operated and then they used the M3A4 Ammo handcart, sometimes pulled behind the (today also very rare) Cushman airborne scooter.! The paint which is still on it is the original lusterless OD color from 1945!

The unit comes with two brandnew correct "Good Year" tires. One of the inner tubes does not hold the air and has to be fixed or replaced.

The only thing not original can be seen on the photo on the left. The former owner welded something on to be able to pull the M3A4 as a trailer behind his motorcycle. This can easily grinded off again.

The original wheels are in excellent condition and the original grease nipples are present.

Close-Up of the "modified" front end, please note that the original hook is still present. This hook is the "hand brake" of the cart which helps to prevent the cart from rolling downhill once it is pushed into the ground.

This unit saw service in a World War Two Ordnance Plant in the Midwest which is long abandoned.
