about 90% of the original black paint is still there. There are no missing or lose parts, everything works just fine, the big sled moves easily, the "Um-schalter" (Caps Lock on todays keyboards) works, so does the device that switches from the black to the red color ribbon. All keys move fine, too (including the SS key).

This wonderful historic item was made by the well known Wanderer com-pany in Chemnitz, Germany. This impressive typewriter has a 650mm or 25-1/2 inch wide sled and a total weight of about 50 lbs.! It is a lot bigger and heavier than the portable, cased one that are offered from time to time. This fully operational item is a nice example of the so called Amtsstubenmodell (Office Model) and who knows in which Amtsstube (Office) this typewriter once saw service and what historic documents or orders might have been written on it?! Again, there are no parts missing, all moving parts move the way they are supposed to and it is ready to be used to write "original" SS documents! Some of the original paint is gone at the front (see pictures) and the machine has collected some dust inside (unlike with todays computers it did not have any effects on the function) but this can be easily cleaned. A very nice addition for anyones collection of historic SS material!
