This rare 8 x 10-3/4 inch, 128-pages soft cover book with 150+ photos was written by Dr. Friedrich Didier and published 1943 by the Central Publishing House of the NSDAP, Franz Eher Nachf. in Berlin. The book deals about the millions of foreigners who worked in German factories and on German farms. The way the book describes it and how the photos show it they were all volunteers, perfectly happy and in many cases had better work and living conditions than they had in theor homeland. It is not our business to judge wether they volunteered or were forced to work for Germany - we are only offering a very interesting book for sale!

Ernst Friedrich Christoph "Fritz" Sauckel (October 27, 1894 - October 16, 1946) was a NSDAP member since 1923 (member #1,395). On March 21, 1942 Adolf Hitler made him the Generalbevollmächtigter für den Arbeits-einsatz (General Plenipotentiary for Labour Deployment), a position he held until the end of the war. He was responsible for the deployment of millions of foreign workers in the German Reich and the occupied territories. In the eyes of the Allies his position made him a war criminal, who organized the systematic enslavement of millions from lands occupied by Nazi Germany. He was sentenced to death at the Nuremberg trials and hanged on October 16, 1946. His last words were recorded as "Ich sterbe unschuldig, mein Urteil ist ungerecht. Gott beschütze Deutschland!" (I die innocent, my sen-tence is unjust. God protect Germany!).

this copy once was a 1944 Christmas gift, given to a (Nazi?) comrade with the best wishes for the year 1945(!) by the NSDAP Kreisleiter of Goslar-Zellerfeld. We are not sure wether it is an original signature of the Kreis-leiter or a rubber stamp. But one way or the other, it is a very interesting dedication by a Nazi official, given out on occasion of the last Christmas in Hitler-Germany!
