This 15x11(!) inch book is one of the finest pieces of original Third Reich literature about furniture, light fixtures, curtains and even china! Hundreds of illustrations (many of them in full color!) give a detailed impression on how Germans lived in the late 1930s and early 1940s! Shown are living room furniture, kitchen cabinets (very interesting to compare them to todays kit-chen cabinets!), bedroom furniture, hall room furniture (coat hangers, etc.), dining room furniture and much more. Also shown are curtains, light fixtures and even kitchen utensils, plates and silverware! The illustrated furniture is accompanied by copies of fully usable shop drawings which could be utilized by any cabinetmaker to manufacture furniture in authentic 1930s / 1940s Third Reich style! The book was published 1940 by the Reichsheimstattamt (Reich Home Office) of the German Labor Front. Usually the maker of any kind of shop drawings or construction blueprints has a copyright on them to prevent that somebody else uses them. The preface of this book does the opposite: it encourages cabinetshop owners and furniture manufacturers to copy the designs in this book and to utilize the scaled shop drawings!
