This document was issued to Germn citizens who intended to travel to foreign countries. The photo above is a little misleading, the "1st style" passport with the Weimar eagle was actu-ally issued to right before the Nazi seizure of power. The "2nd style" passport shown above actually was the first style Nazi era passport. From 1940 onward the Nazi eagle was placed above the words Deutsches Reich and Reisepass. Just like the travel passport from other countries this document had many pages that provided space for visas and border stamps. There also was a version for Jews, the document was nearly identical but had a letter "J" stamped into the name section of the passport.
