ITEM #DOC - 9 DEUTSCHE REICHSPOST POSTSPARBUCH (GERMAN REICH POSTAL SAVINGS BANK) The German post offices had (and still have) a savings bank as part of the services they are offering. After opening a savings account the account holder received a Postsparbuch (Postal Savings Book) and a Ausweiskarte (Account Card). Both documents had matching numbers and both had to be presented at the counter of the post office to make withdrawals from the account. For withdrawals over RM 100 one of the orange Kündigungsscheine from the booklet below left had to be filled out, withdrawals up to RM 100 required to fill out one of the white or yellow Rückzahlungsscheine from the booklet below right. All transactions were documented in the Postsparbuch.
