Offered for sale is a very rare item for your Willys MB / Ford GPW WWII jeep in absolutely NOS (New Old Stock) condition which will give you extra points from the judges in every contest and which few collectors have ever seen and even fewer have in their jeeps!!
Offered is a mint 6 Volt winshield de-icer and DEFROSTER which was first made in 1942 as part of the winterization kit especially for the quarter-ton Willys MB and Ford GPW jeep to de-ice and defrost the windshield at least on the drivers side when operating the open and unheated jeep on winter battlefields like i.e. Bastogne in 1944! These kits are very hard to find today as they came into service late in the war and very few jeeps were equipped with these winterization upgrades. It is the first time ever that we were able to locate a New Old Stock defroster in its mint original OD metal box with all the hardware and wires still in the original (and also as new) paper wrapping!!
The box and the defroster unit are in excellent NOS condition and came probably the first time out of the original paper wrapping after 60+ years but only for taking pictures. If you are restoring a Willys MB, Ford GPW, GMC 2-1/2 ton truck, Command Car or any other kind of World War Two U.S. military vehicle and want to add something really special to it you should get this item!
